Stainless teel Round Bar is an alloy steel with smooth surface, high weldability, corrosion resistance, polishability, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics. Stainless steel is divided into austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, and duplex stainless.
Austenitic Stainless Steel
Austenitic stainless steel has a stable austenite structure, is non-magnetic and has high toughness and plasticity, but its strength is low and it cannot be strengthened through phase transformation. It can only be strengthened through cold working. In addition to being resistant to corrosion by oxidizing acid media, this type of steel can also be resistant to corrosion by sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, urea, etc. if it contains elements such as Mo and Cu. If the carbon content in this type of steel is less than 0.03% or contains Ti or Ni, its intergranular corrosion resistance can be significantly improved. High-silicon austenitic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance to concentrated nitric acid.
Martensitic Stainless Steel
Martensitic stainless steel is a type of stainless steel whose properties can be adjusted through heat treatment (quenching, tempering). In layman's terms, it is a type of hardenable stainless steel. This characteristic determines that this type of steel must meet two basic conditions: first, there must be an austenite phase region in the equilibrium phase diagram, and it must be heated for a long time within the temperature range of this region to allow carbides to dissolve into the steel before quenching to form martensite, that is, the chemical composition must be controlled in the γ or γ+α phase region; second, the alloy must form a corrosion-resistant and oxidation-resistant passivation film, and the chromium content must be above 10.5%. According to the difference in alloying elements, it can be divided into martensitic chromium stainless steel and martensitic chromium-nickel stainless steel.
Duplex Stainless Steel
stainless steel with an austenitic structure at room temperature. Steel contains Cr≈18%, Ni≈8%-25% and C≈0.1%. Steel has high toughness and plasticity, but low strength.
Ferritic Stainless Steel
It contains 15% to 30% chromium and has a body-centered cubic crystal structure. This type of steel generally does not contain nickel, and sometimes contains a small amount of Mo, Ti, Nb and other elements. This type of steel has the characteristics of large thermal conductivity, small expansion coefficient, good oxidation resistance, and excellent stress corrosion resistance.
